My phone app disappeared11/12/2022 So my first rule for anything important is to have a backup, and have it in a format that doesn't require that app in order to read it. To be honest, all apps have a finite lifetime, and none make any promises for what happens to your data if they close down (or are closed down). If they were stored in "the cloud" then it will depend on whose cloud they are stored in. MY PHONE APP DISAPPEARED INSTALLapkmirror or apkpure) and install it you should be able to access them again (if they are stored as plain text you may not even need to find the app). If they are stored in a folder in the user-visible part of the internal storage (/sdcard) then they should still be there, and if you can find the app elsewhere (e.g. If it only stored them on your device and its data were removed when it was uninstalled (however that happened) then unless you have a backup it's likely that is that. In fact Google routinely remove malicious apps from the Play Store without using this ability to remotely uninstall them, so if this is the reason you can no longer find it on your phone then there must have been a serious problem with the app (like a copyright violation which annoyed a corporation, rather than just malware that harmed the users).Īs to how you can find your notes, that really depends on what the app was and where it stored them as well as why it has disappeared. Google can uninstall an app from your phone, but they don't do it often (I suspect that they don't like to remind people how much control they have). The reason I mention this is that the developer simply discontinuing an app doesn't remove it from your phone. You might have one that controls what you see on your home screen and app menu also.Unless the app was removed from the Play Store by Google, in which case it may no longer be visible in "my apps" (a part of the Play Store that Google have, annoyingly, made harder to find in the Play Store app). I had to change this so my games would be visible on the home screen and main app menu. It was set to only show games in the launcher as a default setting. I opened game launcher from the app menu and opened settings. I noticed that it was only game apps that were hidden(missing icons). However, in my case, the problem was simply the game launcher app. At the bottom left of this menu, you can open your apps and they will all be there with their icons. This will show you your recently closed apps (only two or three) as well as a shortcut menu. Also, if you haven't disabled your side menu for quick access from the home screen you can place your finger on the right side of your screen and swipe left. If you go into settings and select apps, you'll see all your apps that are missing from the home screen and main app menu are still installed. I had the same problem with the exact same phone. Under “ Settings” > “ Apps & notifications” > “ App info“. Choose the app that goes missing, and ensure the app is not disabled. If you have a Samsung device, it may be called “ TouchWiz“. Looks for something related to or contains the words “ Home” or “ Launcher” (Example: Nova Launcher). The app we are looking for will differ depending on the device. Select the app that handles the launcher.Go to “ Settings” > “ Apps & notifications” > “ App info“.This step will reset your home screen completely and is only recommended if disappearing icons is a continuous problem. In many cases, the Home screen will refresh and the icon(s) will return. Lost Mode locks your device with a passcode and can display a custom message and contact phone number right on the Lock Screen. For missing iOS devices, Find My iPhone also includes Lost Mode. Press and hold the “ Power” button, then select “ Restart“. Find My iPhone will help you locate your missing device on a map, remotely lock it, play a sound, display a message, or erase all the data on it. If you haven’t tried to restart the device yet, give that a try. I found a resolution on technipages except for me in the reset home screen launcher the app I cleared cache/data from was called "ONE UI HOME" once the app launcher worked again I then restored my home screen from the most recent backup, and everything is back in its place and working properly. Hello, not sure if you are still having this issue or not, I ran into it today myself.
